London alternative rock four-piece. Debut EP Cello is out now.
Pondlife are a London-based alternative rock four-piece: Tom Brownill, Matt Gregory, Arthur Sharples and Poppy Sharples.
Their sound blends loud, loose, fuzzed-out guitars with wistful, tightly crafted melodies that sit somewhere between the '90s underground and today's DIY scene — Pavement, Weezer and Duster are in the mix.
Their debut EP, Cello, is out now. Recorded live in a single day, it was recorded and mixed by Louis Milburn and mastered by Felix Davis, whose credits include Geese, Led Zeppelin and Yard Act.
The EP has picked up coverage from outlets including Get In Her Ears, who praised 'Cello' for its “scuzzy hooks and swirling atmospherics”, Japan's Niche Music, who praised its '90s slacker sound and recommended Pondlife to listeners of Built to Spill and Dinosaur Jr, and Dark Impala's roundup of emerging rock acts.
